Can you use a travel eSIM as a mobile hotspot?▼
Often, but not always, and the policy differs by provider rather than by plan. Nomad states unrestricted hotspot use across its plans. Holafly caps tethering at 1 GB per day on its unlimited plans. Other providers do not publish a clear policy, so we do not list them here.
Does tethering use more data?▼
Tethering itself adds no overhead, but the devices you connect usually consume far more data than a phone. Laptops download software updates, sync cloud storage and stream at higher resolutions, so a plan that lasts a week on your phone alone can be exhausted in a day or two of laptop use.
Why is hotspot shown as 'not stated' for some plans?▼
Because the provider does not document a tethering policy in the data we verified. We deliberately do not guess: showing 'no hotspot' when the provider simply stayed silent would be just as misleading as promising a feature that does not exist.
